Phil Evans is headed to the 2024 Paralympics in Paris

WA All Abilities wheelchair football league star Phil Evans is off to Paris to compete in the Paralympics.

Evans has been playing wheelchair Basketball for 6 years and decided to give wheelchair football a go last year, joining WAFL side Subiaco.

Before Evans was involved in an accident which paralysed him from the waist down, he played cricket and football.

“I didn’t start playing until 3-4 years after I had my accident, and I wish I had started earlier!” Evans said.

“My advice to anyone who has thought about playing wheelchair sports, abled or not – give it a go, you have nothing to lose”.

WA Wheelchair Football League are holding ‘Come and Try’ sessions over the next few weeks in the lead up to the opening round of Wheelchair Football.
