Join the All-Abilities Football Sundowners in Bunbury and Albany to Celebrate and Expand Disability Football Programs

South West community members, disability organisations and staff from local schools are encouraged to attend the all-abilities sundowners held in Bunbury and Albany next week.

This is a great opportunity to hear about the great work Starkick and WA All Abilities Football Association are doing to grow disability football from juniors as young as five years old to seniors.

In 2023, the West Australian Football Commission launched new programs, Auskick Blind and Auskick Wheelchair, which saw over 50 participants engage in them. These programs provide a player pathway for participants who want to grow their game and compete in Wheelchair Football and WA Blind AFL.

WAAAFA Executive Officer, Hayden Marchetto said the sundowners are an opportunity to engage more West Australians in football.

“Football serves as a cornerstone in building community connections and fostering inclusivity," Marchetto said.

“We are excited to host footy carnivals tailored to individuals of all abilities in Bunbury and Albany.

“Our programs allow people with a disability to be involved and participate in Australian rules football like every other Australian,” Marchetto said.
